In Western Australia during 2014: Over a quarter (28% or 7,121 victims) of all assault victims were aged between 25 and 34 years; Females accounted for 56% (14,107 victims) of total assault victims; Just under half of all recorded assaults against males (49% or 5,265 victims) and more than two thirds of assaults against females (73% or 10,283 victims) occurred at a residential location; and For four in five victims of assault (80% or 19,893 victims), no weapon was used by the offender.
